Our Story

We Build the Engines We Would Put in Our Own Cars

Goat Engines started with a simple idea. If we would not trust it in our own project, we would not put our name on it.

We searched for a high quality engine that was built right, backed by a real warranty, and sold by a company that actually stood behind the product after the sale. What we found was a big gap in the market.

Too many options felt rushed, inconsistent, or unsupported. Customers were being asked to spend real money without the confidence that the engine was assembled with care or backed by people who would be there if something went wrong.

That is why Goat Engines exists. We are here to fill that gap with crate engines built the right way, with the quality, attention to detail, and peace of mind we would expect for our own cars.

Our Mission

Backed by warranty coverage that gives customers real peace of mind

5 Star Feedback

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It

Real build stories matter. Here’s the kind of feedback Goat customers care about most: clean installs, strong performance, and confidence after the sale.

Chevy 350

Exactly what my C10 needed

I wanted a clean small block that looked right and didn’t feel like a gamble. The 350 showed up finished better than expected, fired quickly, and gave my truck the classic Chevy feel I was after without a bunch of guessing.

Chevy 383

The torque is what sold me

I debated between a 350 and a 383 for weeks. I’m glad I went stroker. The extra low and mid range pull is obvious on the street, and it still behaves like something you actually want to drive, not just talk about.

Chevy 327

Perfect for a classic build

I wanted something that fit the vibe of the car, not just the budget. The 327 gave me that old school small block personality with a much cleaner finish and better peace of mind than chasing a local core and hoping for the best.

Chevy 454

Big block attitude, no drama

The whole point of going 454 was to make the car feel serious the second you hit the key. It delivered that, but what impressed me more was how sorted everything felt. Nothing about it looked rushed or pieced together.

Ford 302

A much smarter way to restart a project

My old 302 was turning into one of those projects where every answer created two more questions. Going with a complete engine let me stop chasing machine shop timelines and actually move the build forward again.

Ford 347

Makes the car feel lighter and faster everywhere

The 347 changed the whole personality of the car. It revs the way I hoped it would, but it still feels usable and street friendly. That balance was what I was after, and Goat nailed it.

Ford 351W

Strong, simple, and confidence inspiring

I wanted Windsor reliability with enough muscle to make the truck fun. That is exactly what I got. The engine felt sorted from day one, and the warranty side of things made the decision a lot easier.

Ford 408

Exactly the kind of torque I was chasing

I built the truck to be driven, not trailered, so I wanted real torque and real manners. The 408 hits hard but still feels like a complete package. It gave the build the attitude it was missing.

Ford 427

This was the hero piece of the whole car

Every restomod has that one decision that sets the tone for the whole project. For me it was the 427. It looks right, sounds right, and gave the car the kind of presence you cannot fake with a cheaper shortcut.

Chevy 350

Peace of mind was a big part of it

There are cheaper ways to buy a small block, but that was never the whole point. I wanted something built right and backed by a company that stood behind it. That confidence mattered just as much as the engine itself.

FAQ

Questions Buyers Ask Before They Order

The right crate engine depends on your build, your goals, and how you want the car or truck to drive.

What is the best Goat Engine for a street build?
For many classic street builds, a Chevy 350 or Ford 302 is a strong starting point. If you want more torque and stronger acceleration, stepping up to a 383 stroker, 347, or 351W usually makes more sense.
What is the difference between a 350 and a 383?
A 350 is the classic do-it-all small block choice. A 383 adds displacement and usually gives you a noticeable jump in torque, especially in the low and mid range, while still being very street friendly.
What is the difference between a Ford 302 and 347?
A 302 is a classic small block Ford option with simple packaging and broad support. A 347 keeps that small block footprint but adds more cubic inches for stronger torque and a broader powerband.
Do Goat Engines come with warranty coverage?
Goat Engines is positioned around quality builds backed by written warranty coverage, giving buyers more confidence than a random unknown rebuild or used core.
How do I choose the right engine for my project?
Start with your platform, intended use, and power goal. Think about whether you want a simple cruiser, a stronger stroker setup, or a bigger torque-focused combination, then match the engine to the rest of the drivetrain and build plan.
